Leonard S. Schleifer, M.D., Ph.D., founded Regeneron in 1988, and has been a board member and the company’s president and chief executive officer since its inception. He currently serves as board co-chair. He served as chairman of the board from 1990 through 1994. Dr. Schleifer, together with Regeneron’s founding scientist, Dr. Yancopoulos, built and managed the company over the past 35 years. Dr. Schleifer is a licensed physician and is certified in neurology by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology.
